The Philosophy

NeoRetroism is a philosophy birthed out of the word "community", which in villages of old, was the essence that shaped the social interaction of people. Neoretroism brings together an integrated approach to retail, residential and recreational unlike any other type of development in America today.

In a NeoRetroVillage, retail is designed to service the outlying community within a close proximity to the village, as well as the village itself. It is not dependent on regional consumers as it meets the needs of a close market of residents and consumers.

Unlike New Urbanism and/or Master-Planned Communities that many times use the word village,  NeoRetroism is by far the closest we have come to recreating an authentic village.

As people of diverse backgrounds congregate, their recreational needs require a well thought out plan to satisfy those recreational needs. A NeoRetroVillage creates tailor-made spaces for its unique residents.

The Village

Supetar a city on the northern side of the Dalmatian island of Brač, in the Split-Dalmatia County, in Croatia. It became the island's official center in 1827. It is the place where Jeffory D. Blackard acquired the Villa Adriatica resort as well as other assets of the local village. During his stay there over the next two years, he had an epiphany, which led to the birth of NeoRetroism.

Adriatica is the first model village developed in America using NeoRetroism. It sits in the heart of Stonebridge Ranch, a master-planned community in McKinney, Texas. It is a true community, perfectly balancing the needs and wants of it’s inhabitants. Combining years of research and thoughtful study of European culture, it provides the perfect balance of Retail, Residential and Recreational venues.
